Once a cluster of distinct farming communities and lakefront resorts, Randolph Township in Morris County has grown rapidly in the last 25 years into a largely residential suburban community. Founded in 1805, Randolph Township includes neighborhoods such as Ironia, Mount Freedom, Shongum, Millbrook and Mount Fern. The town was named for Hartshorne Fitz-Randolph, one of the area's original landowners who settled here in the 1700s. Founders Day is celebrated each year on Nov 13.

Newark is 25 miles to the northeast, New York City is 32 miles to the east and Philadelphia is 85 miles to the southwest. Rail service is available in neighboring Dover Township. Newark, NYC, The Meadowlands, and Newark Airport are within easy reach.

Recreation Facilities
Randolph Township is deeply committed to providing the very best in recreational amenities to its residents. The town is preparing to spend More than $2.7 million in the creation of Freedom Park. When completed, this passive and active state-of-the art recreational facility will include fields for soccer, the fastest-growing sport, as well as the more traditional games of football and baseball. Other sports facilities include basketball and volleyball courts. The park's hub for social gatherings will take place at a planned pavilion with various picnic facilities. Highly praised stage productions are presented frequently by the Brundage Playhouse community theater group. Their productions are held usually at the playhouse on Carrell Road.
